maybe we should discuss how even though asians are fetishized, that does not apply equally to every asian. the characteristics that get fetishized on asians are predominantly eurocentric (pale skin, small nose, big eyes) while east asians with smaller eyes, tanned skin, and broad flat noses are still seen as ugly. on that note brown south/southeast asians are absolutely not perceived like east asians. south asians are seen as dirty and uncultured, brown women are seen as ugly and disgusting for features like dark skin and thick body hair, while brown men are seen as perverts and lusting after white women online. any asian that doesn’t fit the perfect mold of kpop star or anime character is immediately discarded and it’s irritating to see asian fetishization only talked about in the context of who it includes and not also who it purposely excludes
